It’s not easy to get into the buildings of the Lincoln Centre. We were booked into a tour that cost us $15, showed us pretty much nothing and we weren’t allowed to take photos – not because it was disallowed but because the tour guide didn’t want to be held up on his sprint from start to finish! Very disappointing. The Lincoln Centre is one of New York’s best known cultural spaces and while Diller and Scofidio have done something of a job in making the centre more coherent – it is still a bit of a mess really. The mixture of old and new is not endearing, but confusing. Sometimes American Security astounds me – why are you bothering to protect something so uninteresting!Click on any of the thumbnails below to view the images full size.
