Buon Gusto has been around for about 30 years. It used to be a bit of an institution around the university. I imagine before Sydney’s food revolution it was quite exotic. The food there is now described invariably as “slop” or worse simple, “avoid”. But the place still has a certain charm, much of which has to do with it’s signage which, along with the food, hasn’t changed for 30 years. Cue fake flowers, sticker collage, life sized waiter cutouts, multicoloured lightbulbs. Someone just needs to make a movie here Volver style and it’ll be right back into business.
